A DETAILED ITINERARY OF THE 3-DAY TANZANIA CAMPING SAFARI

ARRIVE IN TANZANIA

You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to the hotel in Moshi or Arusha. You will meet your driver-guide, who will brief you on your upcoming 3-day camping safari. After that, you can relax for the remainder of the day.

DAY 1: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

-Non-game-viewing travel time: 1 hour and 40 minutes.

- Distance: 110.33km.

After breakfast, you'll be picked up from your hotel and taken to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. The park is known for its beautiful landscapes, especially the "Little Serengeti" and the Tarangire River, which attracts many animals during the dry season. It features acacia woodlands, giant baobab trees, and swamps.

Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and is home to rare species like the greater kudu and fringed-eared oryx. Expect to see a variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and over 400 bird species. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed during the midday break. The game drive will continue until the evening, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at Tarangire Campsite.

DAY 2: TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK

- Non-game viewing travel time: 1 hour.

- Distance: 56 km.

Enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on a game-viewing journey to Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its lush landscapes, diverse vegetation, and abundant water springs. Wildlife sightings in the park may include monkeys, baboons, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and a variety of birds, such as tree-climbing lions and pink flamingos.

Lunch will be provided at a picnic site within the park, followed by further game drives in the afternoon. Afterwards, we will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. Please note that the NCA gates close at 6 PM, so it's essential to arrive before that time.

Our overnight accommodation will be at Simba Campsite, which is known for its wildlife encounters at night. As it can get chilly, we recommend bringing extra clothing for your comfort.

DAY 3: NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA/JRO

- Non-game-viewing travel time: 1 hour

- Distance: 181.21 km

After breakfast, we will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari tour. The crater is rich in wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, and various predators like lions and leopards. We'll visit Lake Magadi, where flamingos and hippos are found, and enjoy a picnic lunch by the lake. Despite its small size of 20 km in diameter, the crater offers excellent wildlife viewing and photography opportunities. After lunch, we'll ascend the crater and return to Arusha, with an option to drop you off at Kilimanjaro Airport.

DEPART TANZANIA

The day is yours to relax after the safari before your flight home. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time to explore Moshi town and pick up some souvenirs before heading to the airport. Additionally, if you want to continue exploring Tanzania, you can trek Mount Kilimanjaro, visit Zanzibar, or do other activities.
